SmilePass is an SME business that has been venture funded to this point and is currently raising 'Series A' type funding. SmilePass has been successful in selling the API as a service model, and application development to government institutions (Security, Home Offices), System Integrators and direct to corporate users. For example, the SmilePass offering is currently in use across all major UK insurance companies.
The UK is our home market, but, SmilePass is currently rolling out in the US, Middle East, Africa and India through our network of partners.
Our priority is to sell the SmilePass API directly to system integrators. These SIs will build the biometric capability into their own offerings, across all industry verticals (e.g. core banking, retail, security applications). They will then sell their service on to their clients base, enabling scale and rapid growth. It is valuable to sell direct to end users as well. Direct to corporate deployment is also very valuable and can provide high volumes of usage across multiple divisions and product lines.
The compensation model is highly attractive as once a sale is made, API charges are made in perpetuity.
We are offering highly attractive terms for the right sales people. We have a strong current pipeline as a starting point, but it will be necessary to generate new leads.
We are willing to award substantial commission as well as equity value-add cash compensation. Understand the business is venture funded, and value for us is in having a strong client base. Hence we are willing to offer a significant share of revenue generated as compensation - at least to early sales entrants.
The volumes are also very substantial. Given we are selling to senior levels of government, SIs and corporates, it is necessary that the applicant is of a high calibre with a proven track record of software sales.
There is of course opportunity for further development in the business as we build a sales force and orient the business around sales.
What kind of agent is suited to this opportunity?
High energy. Self starter. Entrepreneurial. Experienced within industry. Ability to work with clients to develop concepts. Ability to shape deals. Ability to close different types of sales, from direct, packaged API bundle sales to longer terms strategic engagements. Understanding key target markets is preferable. Understanding of biometrics and authentication is a nice to have but not essential as it is easily learned.
